Plot

Walt Disney Animation Studios produced the beloved animated film Aladdin in 1992. It narrates the tale of a little street kid named Aladdin who develops feelings for Princess Jasmine, the Sultan of Agrabah's daughter. Aladdin must outsmart Jafar with the aid of a mystical Genie in order to earn Jasmine's love and free the kingdom from his rule.

Review

Thanks to Robin Williams' legendary portrayal of the Genie, the film is packed with excitement, action, romance, and tons of humor. The movie is made even more entertaining by Williams' quick wit and humorous timing, making it a classic that endures even now. I was happy to view the movie again as an adult and relive the memories as someone who had seen it as a child. The musical parts are snappy and enjoyable, and the animation is gorgeous and vivid. It's simple to become emotionally immersed in the film because of the touching tale and endearing characters. Aladdin was fantastic overall, and I would rate it a 5 out of 5. It's a family-friendly film that appeals to both children and adults, and it has influenced a lot of pop culture adaptations and spin-offs.

Outside Class Review

However, not everybody feels the same way. I came across a review that called the movie's clichéd and disrespectful portrayal of Middle Eastern society intolerable. Although I see where the reviewer is coming from, I believe it's vital to keep in mind that Aladdin is a fictional story that was inspired by the Arabian Nights, and it is not meant to be an accurate portrayal of the culture. But I agree with the viewer that it is offensive to some people, and we should acknowledge that before watching Aladdin and this shouldn't be repeated in the modern films.
